T20 World Cup India-Pakistan: Kohli, Pant rebuild after India lose 3 early wickets

India started its ICC T20 World Cup campaign today with a high-octane encounter against arch rival Pakistan. India and Pakistan’s first game of the tournament started with the latter choosing to bowl first.

In the first three overs, India lost two big wickets in KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma with Pakistani bowler Shaheen Afridi taking out both the batsmen, giving Pakistan the ideal start. Soon after, the bowling side took Suryakumar Yadav’s wicket in the 6th over.

Captain Virat Kohli and the young prospect Rishabh Pant got the wheels rolling for the side, bringing the score to 81 runs for 3 wickets after 12 overs. Pant fell in the next over after making 39 runs in 30 balls.

Indian opener Sharma departed on a duck at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Historically, India has prevailed in the cricket rivalry which has stared off on the weak foot today.
