David Warner has farewelled Sunrisers Hyderabad in a touching post on Instagram, with the Australian hinting at an exit from the organisation after the 2021 IPL season.
Sunrisers Hyderabad were the first team out of the playoffs race and lined up for their final game against Mumbai Indians, losing by 42 runs.
Warner, as he had been for the previous five games, was left out of the team and seemed to hint at his departure in an Instagram post.

“Thank You for the memories created,” he wrote.
“To all the fans, you have been a driving force for our team always to give 100%. I can’t thank you all enough for the support shown. It’s been a great ride. My family and I are going to miss you all!! #respect #cricket #hyderabad One last effort today.”
Warner helped the franchise to IPL glory in 2016 and was for so long the centrepiece of the franchise, scoring a record 4,014 runs in seven years for the Orange Army.
He was left out of the squad in the latter stages of this season as Hyderabad gave its younger stars a chance to shine.
“We’ve got a lot of young players here, and for this match we decided obviously we’re going to make a few changes in the team,” Sunrisers coach Trevor Bayliss said in September.
“But to give some of the young players who haven’t been a part of the 18 and we had to bring them to the game, give them the opportunity to come along and experience a game.”
He was also stripped of the captaincy earlier in the season in yet another hint that Warner’s time at the franchise was running out.
